The bail was set at GH¢1 million, requiring two sureties. The presiding judge, Mr. Isaac Addo, instructed the Prosecution to adhere to disclosure rules. Lawal faces charges of unlawful entry and theft of electrical cables with an estimated value of GH¢1,035,500. He has denied all allegations against him. According to the prosecution, an examination of the site’s Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage revealed Lawal and two accomplices stealing the copper cables. The complainants apprehended Lawal and turned him over to the police. Investigation showed that the group accessed the site via a scaffold, cut the cables, and managed to transport them away.
Furthermore, evidence indicated that Lawal sold the stolen cables to an unidentified individual at Kwame Nkrumah Circles, receiving GH¢2,000 for his share. Lawal was unable to provide information leading to the capture of his accomplices or the alleged receiver of the stolen goods.
