Marquez Continues Dominance with Argentina MotoGP Victory Over Brother Alex
Marc Marquez won the Argentina MotoGP, continuing his perfect season and edging closer to a seventh world title. He overcame his brother Alex Marquez, who finished second, marking his fourth second-place finish this season. The race drew 209,000 fans as Marc celebrated his 90th career win, while Alex awaits his first victory in MotoGP.
In the recent MotoGP event held in Termas de Río Hondo, Argentina, Marc Marquez once again triumphed over his brother, Alex Marquez, securing victory and continuing his flawless season. Marc, who previously launched his season with a win in Thailand, executed a remarkable performance by winning both the sprint and the main race from pole position.
This victory marked Marc’s first back-to-back wins since 2014 and his 90th career Grand Prix triumph, highlighting his successful return after a three-year hiatus from this circuit since his last win in 2019. With 74 points, he leads the championship standings, edging closer to a potential seventh world title that would equal Valentino Rossi’s legendary status.
Throughout the race weekend, Marc dominated practice sessions, achieved his 96th pole position with a recorded track time, and showcased his speed on the track. The event attracted an impressive turnout of 209,000 fans, significantly increasing the local population of around 30,000.
During the race, Alex briefly took the lead on lap four after capitalizing on a small error from Marc. However, despite his efforts and a significant lead at the halfway point, Alex could not maintain his position as Marc recovered to overtake him late in the race. After forging ahead with five laps remaining, Marc secured the win, all while acknowledging Alex’s impressive performance.
“It’s impossible to keep him behind,” remarked Alex, who is still searching for his first MotoGP victory after achieving his fourth second-place finish this season. His strong performance puts him in second place in the standings with 58 points.
Franco Morbidelli completed the podium for Ducati’s VR46 team, while Marc’s teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, finished fourth and fell behind in the title race. Meanwhile, Miguel Oliveira had to withdraw from the race due to a previous crash, and reigning world champion Jorge Martin is still recuperating from injuries sustained in Thailand, missing not only this race but also the upcoming Texas event.
Marc Marquez continues to assert his dominance in the MotoGP season with a notable victory over Alex Marquez in Argentina. His performance not only solidifies his lead in the championship standings but also underscores his aspiration to equal Valentino Rossi’s legendary status. Meanwhile, Alex’s commendable effort brings him close to his first win as the competition remains fierce. The MotoGP community eagerly anticipates the ongoing battles in this season’s races.
