David Shikfu Parradang, the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, has passed away at the Joy House Hotel in Abuja. The Nigeria Police Force confirmed this tragic news on March 4, 2025. Initial reports suggested his death was due to foul play after a banking visit; however, police later clarified that this was not the case.
According to police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, Parradang checked into the hotel on March 3, 2025, around noon. He paid N22,000 for a one-night stay and later welcomed a female guest to his room. She left the hotel by 4 PM the same day, and Parradang did not exit following her departure.
Concerned for his wellbeing, a military officer friend visited the hotel around 4 AM the next day. Upon entry, both he and the hotel staff found Parradang deceased in a chair. The police were notified, and they secured the scene for investigation. The body has since been transferred to the National Hospital for examination.
The police are actively seeking the female guest who visited him prior to his death and are committed to thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding his demise. They appreciate public cooperation in their ongoing efforts to find justice.
In his career, Parradang served in the Nigeria Immigration Service for over 30 years, occupying various roles including Comptroller General. He received the national honour of Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) for his service, alongside a distinguished educational background from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
