According to police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun, 19 of these victims were passengers abducted along the Tegina-Zungeru road while traveling in a Toyota bus registered as LG 08 DGS. Their journey began in Sokoto State and was intended for Bayelsa State. Fortunately, after a strategic response involving a joint security tactical team, the abduction was mitigated. The operation did not conclude there; later that evening at approximately 9:00 PM, an additional seven victims were also freed unharmed. It is noteworthy that four more individuals were reportedly kidnapped when another vehicle, bearing the registration number LND 863 YF, was attacked by the same group of kidnappers. This incident further highlights the ongoing challenges posed by kidnapping in the region, necessitating vigilant responses from law enforcement agencies.
